Submitting Artwork In addition to providing you with our own artwork for engraving (such as our line of technical tattoos), we also accept artwork submission from customers wanting their own designs engraved onto their items. For best results, please adhere to the following guidelines. The quality of the end product depends entirely on the quality of the original artwork. Poor, low quality artwork will not yield good results. How do I submit a photo? All photos should have a minimum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels, roughly the equivalent of a 2.0 megapixel image, and preferably saved at 300 DPI (dots-per-inch). Most cameras these days capture 2.0 megapixel images at a minimum, with some going as high as 10 megapixel or more. Generally images from 4.0 to 8.0 megapixel cameras are more than sufficient. Do not send images captured by cellphone unless the camera resolution is at least 2.0 megapixel in size, and the image is sharp with no motion blur. We accept the JPG file format since it is the most common and compresses nicely without losing too much detail. A compression setting of about 8 (out of 10, where 10 is the best quality) will usually yield excellent results. It is not necessary to send huge files. Generally try not to exceed 1.5Mb in size. Color images will be converted by us to grayscale, and any other post work necessary, such as removing any backgrounds, will be charged at our standard hourly rate. How do I submit line art? Line art covers such things as logos, letter art and generally anything else that’s not a photo. Line art should be strictly black and white for most applications. The exception to this is engraved artwork on anodized aluminum. This medium will accept grayscale with excellent results. Accepted formats are CDR, EPS, WMF and PDF. These files are generally quite small, so even complex artwork can be easily forwarded to us. Where do I send my artwork? All artwork should be sent to us here as an email attachment.
