Spotlight: Clock
Hands
As a demonstration, we cut a
number of very thin clock hands
out of 80 lb. paper stock. The
penny in the photo shows just how
tiny these hands really are, giving
you an idea of the incredible
precision we’re able to produce
with our system. Prototyping at this
level opens up a whole world of
possibilities, limited only by your
imagination.
Prototyping
Prototyping involves manufacturing a one-off item in order to prove or verify a design.
Typically these are often constructed from non-production materials since they are only meant
to simply represent the final design. Using your artwork, we can accurately manufacture many
types of prototype products.
Models...
For example, architectural models are ideally suited for laser manufacturing. Using a variety of
materials, we can cut and engrave your models to create highly detailed representations of the
real thing, big or small.
Templates...
Furthermore, we can also create templates, cut and engraved from paper stock, acrylics or
wood, in the shape of your final product. One example of such an application is retail box
design. Even complex designs can be easily cut from thin cardboard and test assembled. The
end result is an accurate, inexpensive mock-up.
Mock-ups...
If you are looking to prototype a metallic object, such as a gear for instance, we can still
create a mock-up from an alternate material. This will allow you to verify the overall design. In
this case, the use of acrylics would give the most accurate result.
If you have a prototyping project in mind, please don’t hesitate to contact us to see how we
can help.
