The examples seen above were cut from a cork sheet. We’re able to laser cut gaskets from a variety of materials, such as cork, paper or rubber, regardless of complexity. Laser cutting is an ideal way to verify a one-off design, without the need to make an expensive die. Laser Cutting Our laser cutting service will intricately cut patterns and designs from wood, acrylic, plastic, fabric and many other non-metallic materials. Patterns can be cut to an accuracy of 0.005”. What laser cutting can do for you Materials we’re able to cut can vary in thickness from paper thin card stock to 1/4” solid walnut. This opens the door to many applications such as crafting, modeling and prototyping. Some materials, such as Formica, used in making countertops, is very brittle and difficult to cut using conventional means. We can cut Formica into any shape you can imagine, making it ideal for inlays. And how it saves you money If you’re looking to cut fabrics, acrylics or wood, letting us work on your project will also save you money in the long run, since there is no need to make expensive dies. This is particularly true of very small runs where the savings could be considerable. Materials our laser can’t cut It’s important to note that some materials simply can’t be cut by our laser, specifically any metal, glass, stone or tile. We also can’t cut PVC vinyl since residue from this material tends to be very corrosive to the laser’s optics over time.
